Where To Treat Your Dad This Father’s Day

By Ray White Whitsunday

Stuck for ideas on how to spoil your Dad this Sunday for Father’s Day?

What do Dad’s love best? Cars, boats, beers, burgers, steak and Dad jokes, right? Well if you haven’t already booked you and your Dad in for a Father’s Day lunch, then you better be quick! Local cafes and restaurants get booked out quick this time of year. Check out some great local places below that will be perfect for Father’s Day.

CARS
If your Dad loves cars, then why not book your family in for lunch at George’s Diner down Conway Beach? This has to be the cutest cafe in town! If you haven’t had the chance to check it out yet, it will blow you away! The amount of effort that has been put in to designing this cafe space is just outstanding. The original owners George and Debbie did a fantastic job putting this local treasure together. The cafe is set up like a true diner, with checkered floors, bench seats that look like car seats, metal and neon signs and a massive route 66 sign painted onto the back wall. You can order a mouth watering sea food basket or a choice of 7 different kinds of hand crafted burgers. We recommend George’s Burger which comes with an Angus beef patty, cheese, lettuce, tomato, bacon, egg, caramelized onion and mayonnaise. Along with your meal, you can order one of their delicious milkshakes that they are famous for, or you can order your Dad his favourite ice cold beer. A Father’s Day lunch can’t get much better then this.

BOATS
If your Dad would enjoy sitting down for a relaxing meal with a panoramic view over the yachts at Coral Sea Marina, then check out Sorrento Resturant & Bar. The view from this restaurant is one of the best in Airlie Beach and the food is just as great. If you don’t have time to sit down for a meal then why not drop in for a couple of afternoon beers with your Dad!

BEERS
Speaking of beers, at the Whitsunday Sailing Club there will be a family day this Sunday for Father’s Day with beer tasting! What else would your Dad rather be doing on his special day? The sailing club are also putting on a spit roast, and there will be a jumping castle for the kids and a pirate party with prizes for best dressed. This event will run from 12.00pm until 6.00pm so drop by and check it out.

BURGERS
Little Vegas Burgers make a mean selection of delicious burgers that are always a challenge to eat! The size of them will sweep you off your feet! The chips that come on the side are just as delicious with a secret spice flavouring on top. The Recovery burger is our favourite, with beef, double cheddar, double bacon, mushroom, egg, cos, BBQ sauce and aaoli. Or check out the Street Eats menu for a delicious treat. Little Vegas Burgers is also fitted out with an industrial design with large wall prints of Elvis, crates on the wall used as shelves and a matte black colour scheme.

STEAK
If your Dad loves his steak, then The Pub at Airlie Beach Hotel is running a Carnivores Lunch Buffet all you can eat! Book your tickets here. Adults tickets are only $39.90 which includes meats straight from their smokers, plus access to the veggies, salad & lolly & ice-cream bar! Bookings are available between 12.00pm & 2.00pm so be quick before tickets sell out!

DAD JOKES
If your Dad loves his ‘Dad Jokes’ then check out this nifty board game from Big W called “Dad Joke Face Off Game.” It may give your Dad some well needed new and improved jokes!

Finally, if you are still stuck for gift ideas and just want to get your Dad something small and easy, you can check out the table at the front of the Live Life Chemistin Whitsunday Plaza. They are located near the entrance to Big W. Their table display is full of fun and quirky Father’s Day gifts.

Happy Father’s Day to all the Whitsunday Dads out there from the team at Ray White Whitsunday! Enjoy!
