Tigerair named official airline partner for the 2015 Airlie Beach Festival of Music

By Mark Beale

Tigerair Australia has been named the official airline partner for the Airlie Beach Festival of Music for 2015. In tune with Tigerair’s goals to empower travellers to explore new destinations and accumulate memorable experiences, the sponsorship of the Whitsunday festival is a perfect fit.

Adam Rowe, Commercial Director, said Tigerair is thrilled to support the festival as the airline’s services to the region grow in popularity.

“Tigerair provides consistently great value airfares between Sydney and Whitsunday Coast and we very recently added a new Sunday service to the schedule just in time for the music festival, in response to overwhelming demand for more services.

“We’re delighted to enable more Sydneysiders than ever to enjoy the Airlie Beach Festival of Music and have an affordable short break in tropical paradise.”

Set in one of the most beautiful coastal locations in Australia, The Airlie Beach Festival of Music is the only waterfront music festival at the heart of the Great Barrier Reef. The festival features internationally and nationally recognised musicians performing in three main concerts and in many of the quaint bars and beachside venues around the party town over a long weekend from Thursday 5 November to Sunday 8 November.

Headline acts include the UK rock band 10cc – famous for songs like Dreadlock Holiday and I’m not in Love – along with Toni Childs, Sandi Thom, Wendy Matthews, Angry Anderson with the James Southwell Band, Richard Clapton and The Black Sorrows.

The Airlie Beach Festival of Music is geared to an over 30s audience who are looking for an enjoyable getaway experience in resort-style surroundings. The tourist town of Airlie Beach offers an intimate, relaxed and friendly environment for people to kick back and listen to some of their favourite bands from yesterday and today.

Now in its third year, the event is also supported by the Queensland Government through Tourism and Events Queensland and promoted as part of the It’s Live! in Queensland event calendar.

Tigerair Australia provides the only direct air link between Sydney and Whitsunday Coast Airport with services on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and from 25 October 2015, also on Sundays.

Fares between Sydney and Whitsunday Coast Airport are regularly on sale from $99 each way. The key to securing the best value deals with Tigerair is to plan ahead and book early as fares are based on demand and increase generally, closer into the travel date.

A three day pass to the festival is $245 and can be booked atwww.mackayecc.com.au and www.bigtix.com.au. For airline bookings go towww.tigerair.com and for more information on the festival and a wide range of accommodation options go to www.airliebeachfestivalofmusic.com.au.
