Prossie’s big barra becomes an internet hit

By Mark Beale

THE Whitsunday Coast features prominently in a new nation-wide interactive fishing website launched this week.

A contributor-based online magazine, Kaydo Fishing World includes articles, photos and action-packed fishing videos, including a debut movie about Proserpine’s Peter Faust Dam.

Known as one of the best places in the nation to catch big barramundi, the dam attracts thousands of anglers each year.

Filming at the dam late last year, the Kaydo team, led by well-known fishing personality Rod Harrison, managed some spectacular captures guaranteed to have local fishing fanatics watching from the edge of their seats.

The 20-minute movie culminates with ‘Harro’, as Mr Harrison is perhaps better known, landing a massive 1.2-metre barra.

The website can be found at http://www.kaydofishingworld.com.
