New Twin Creeks Whitsunday Mountain Bike Trails Opening!

By Ray White Whitsunday

Looking for a new outdoor adventure? The Twin Creeks Whitsundays mountain bike trails are officially opening to the public! After years of planning and construction, the “thousand-acre backyard” is finally ready for riders to explore.

To celebrate, the organisers are hosting two official soft opening ride days this September:

  • Sunday, 6th September (Father’s Day!)
  • Sunday, 13th September

Whether you are a seasoned rider or just looking to enjoy the outdoors, there is something for everyone. With green, blue, and black trails available, the terrain is designed to suit all skill levels.

What to expect:

  • For the Riders: Access to a variety of trails, bike support, and demo/hire bikes available from Ride Whitsunday.
  • For the Community: A BBQ sausage sizzle fundraiser and a “Whip Off” session to cap off the morning.
  • Families & Spectators: Everyone is welcome to join the fun—pull up a chair by the creek, enjoy the views, and cheer on the riders.

Sunday 6th September Schedule:

  • 7:00am: Arrival & rider check-in
  • 7:30am: Welcome + rider briefing
  • 7:45am: Roll out
  • 8:20am: First descent / sighting lap
  • Morning: Free trail riding (go at your own pace)
  • 12:00pm: Last laps
  • 12:30pm: BBQ + Whip Off session

How to join the fun:

Entry is free, but registrations are limited and expected to book out quickly.

  1. Current AusCycling & Whitsunday Mountain Bike Club Members: Entry is free, but you must register via the ‘current member’ section
  2. New Riders: You will need to join AusCycling prior to the day. If you aren’t ready to commit to an annual membership, there is an option for a 30-day free membership, plus a $10 entry fee.
