Hayman Island By InterContinental To Officially Open 1 July 2019

7th November 2018, Hayman Island, Queensland: InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) has
announced Australia’s most iconic private island resort, Hayman Island Resort by InterContinental,
is set to officially open 1 July 2019 and is now taking reservations for guests to voyage into a
secluded paradise of serenity and breath-taking beauty.
Guests can now book online for stays from 1 July 2019 at the Queensland’s most awaited luxury
destination through InterContinental.com. Surrounded by verdant cliffs, crescent-shaped white
beach and celestial-blue sea, the reimagined Hayman Island Resort by InterContinental will
immerse guests in a world of five-star luxury and island wonders beyond their imagination.
Featuring 166 elegantly renovated guest rooms and suites across three spacious accommodation
wings, impressive event and wedding venues, a collection of exciting new restaurants and bars,
and an enriching spa experience, Hayman Island Resort by InterContinental will showcase the best
of the InterContinental life. Redefining the art of luxury travel in the heart of the Great Barrier Reef,
enriched with meaningful experiences and local know-how.
Mr Mark Eletr joined as the Resort Manager earlier this year and will lead the region’s most awaited
luxury destination launch in 2019.
Mark is a native Queenslander and has been at the helm of international
luxury brands for over 20 years throughout Australia, Asia and United Arab Emirates with his career
in luxury resorts beginning over 7 years at Green Island Resort on the Great Barrier Reef.
Commenting on the opening date, Mark said: “Australia is about to experience a new era of luxury
with the opening of Hayman Island Resort by InterContinental. The destination is an idyllic oasis

In the coming months, an exciting line-up of food and beverage experiences will be announced,

Located on the northernmost point in the Whitsunday Islands, Hayman Island by InterContinental is
accessible via Hamilton Island and then by either luxury vessel, helicopter or seaplane.
