WHITEHAVEN IS STILL THE BEST

By Mark Beale

WORLD-FAMOUS Whitehaven Beach has once again taken the top gongs for best beach in both Australia and the South Pacific in the 2015 TripAdvisor Travellers’ Choice Awards.

This marks the third consecutive year that Whitehaven Beach has been voted Australia’s Best Beach by TripAdvisor reviewers.

The picture-perfect Whitsunday destination also ranked ninth in the Top 10 best beaches of the world.

Whitsundays Marketing and Development Limited (WMDL) Executive Director, Jeff Aquilina, said he was very excited that the region’s iconic beach was yet again a favourite with travellers.

“It is a great honour for our region that this beauty is recognised and appreciated by travellers from all over the world,” he said.

“We have an array of amazing visitor experiences on offer here in the Whitsundays but feeling the soft silica sands below your feet on Whitehaven Beach and taking a dip in the crystal clear waters is certainly a ‘must do’.”

Mr Aquilina thanked all the Trip Advisor reviewers who voted for Whitehaven Beach and he also paid tribute to the local tourism operators who allow visitors to experience its exceptional beauty, while keeping it clean and preserving it at the same time.
