The Whitsundays are in for a barrel of laughs

By Mark Beale

RELAX and unwind and let laughter take over at the Whitsunday Arts and Culture Centre’s double feature comedy this Saturday, February 7.

Brought to you by The Sit Down Comedy club, Lindsay Webb and Steve Allison will bring their larrikin nature that promises to have audiences roaring in hilarity.

Mr Allison knows how to make people laugh and as soon as he picks up the microphone – it’s obvious.

He commands attention and laughter is the best way to get it.

With a natural sense of humour and quick wit, Mr Allison’s show is a well-crafted mix of snappy one-liners, hilarious stories, funny home-truths and current topics.

It has previously been described as Aussie humour at its best.

Mr Allison’s standout performances in comedy clubs has led to countless corporate gigs, international tours and television appearances on The Footy Show, The Comedy Channel’s Headliners, Brownies Coast Watch and Dominos’ Home Delivered Comedy.

Lindsay Webb is truly an international act worthy of the title.

Between festivals, corporate comedy, international tours, club comedy, Mr Webb is a hard working comedian in Australia – performing in more than 250 shows each year at home and overseas.

He has appeared on television and radio including Stand up Australia and was most recently on Good News Week, The Footy Show and 7 Days.

Mr Webb has just completed a trial run of his new show Next Level which he will tour in 2015 – starting at the Adelaide Fringe Festival next week. Saturday night’s performance will be a sneak peak of Mr Webb’s upcoming show before he takes on the Adelaide crowds.

The Whitsunday Arts and Culture Centre’s double feature comedy evening is part of the centre’s initiative to bring cultured land-based activities to the Whitsundays.
