Superstar DJ kicks back in the Whitsundays

By Mark Beale

WORLD-FAMOUS DJ Avicii is spending time in the Whitsundays during downtime on his current Australian tour.

It was confirmed yesterday that the Swedish DJ and friends had arranged to soar over the Whitsunday islands with Sky Dive Airlie Beach but due to potential bad weather, the activity had to be cancelled.

A Sky Dive Airlie Beach spokesperson said the crew were all disappointed.

“We do have a few groupies among our drop zone staff who were super excited at the chance to meet the superstar and maybe grab a pic with him. Unfortunately, this time around we didn’t get to host the superstar DJ but we would love to see him back again soon so we can give him a view of Queensland from the top.”

They believe the star spent yesterday at Hamilton Island’s qualia resort.

On Tuesday night, the 25-year-old superstar uploaded a picture to Instagram of him fishing in what the comments suggested was Whitsunday waters.

The caption read ‘Caught this fish today that tasted really good with chips!’

Avicii is one of the headliners of Australia’s Future Music Festival that kicks off this weekend.

He performed a sideshow in Perth on Monday night after also performing in Sydney and Auckland last week.
