Self-publisher to give workshop at Writer’s Festival

By Mark Beale

WORD lovers are in for a treat when the fifth annual Whitsunday Writers Festival takes place.

It will celebrate everything that is wonderful about the written word and will be held from Friday, October 10 to Sunday, October 12 at the Whitsunday Marine Club (VMR).

This year’s event welcomes local entrepreneur and self-publishing wiz Diana Hinschen.

Diana started her own magazine, Australian Hair and Beauty, in 2010 and made the move to publishing it digitally last year.

At this year’s writers festival, she is offering a one-hour self-publishing workshop on Friday October 10 from 2.30 – 3.30pm.

The workshop is for people who either have a work-in-progress or a complete manuscript that they are interested in publishing.

“I am very happy to offer my services at this year’s festival, the workshop is free to everyone and will explain the basics of how to get your written work onto Amazon and published digitally for the world to see” she said.
