CASINO Royale will be the theme of this year’s Ray White Whitsunday Ball in June with all proceeds being donated to upgrade the facilities at the Whitsunday Sports Park in Jubilee Pocket.
Capers on the Esplanade will be transformed into a stylish casino for the event and gaming tables sourced from Brisbane will provide guests with unrestricted access to roulette, craps and money wheels to name a few.
Ray White Whitsunday principal Mark Beale is proud to be supporting the future development of the sports park and said tickets were already selling fast.
“The sports park committee actually leases the sports park land from Council and it costs a lot of money to do that,” he said.
“Recently, the sports park was at risk of closing so we wanted to use the Ray White Ball to not only create awareness of this issue in the community but also help fund further upgrades of the facility.”
Whitsunday Sports Park secretary Justin Butler said the community would reap the benefits of the proposed upgrade for years to come.
“The money will be used to help fund a shaded grandstand on the far side of the field with an exclusive VIP area,” he said.
“Council is also assisting us in the construction of the current grandstands but this may result in additional structural work to the clubhouse.”
Mr Butler said long-term goals included offering wheelchair access and re-aligning the fields to build a new field at the facility.
Tickets cost $90 per person and will include dinner.
