Turtle Carers Needed

By Ray White Whitsunday

Volunteer Turtle Carers Needed

The Whitsunday Turtle Rescue Centre are looking for a few more volunteers to help care for our precious sick and injured turtles. We currently only have one turtle in care, but this could change.

Can you help?

Our centre runs on volunteers, we have two shifts per day, a morning shift and an afternoon shift. During these shifts you will be required to feed the turtles, clean their tanks, prepare food for the next shift and general cleaning of the centre. Each shift generally last between 30mins and 2 hours depending on what turtles we have in care.  All training will be provided to ensure you are comfortable with how all the pumps and filters work.

We have a couple of shifts that will need filling each week. Due to the extensive training we do ask that you are committed to helping for a minimum of 6 months, and able to volunteer for at least one set shift a week.

This is a fantastic opportunity and its a real privilege to be able to care for these magical turtles.

If you are keen to get involved and will be available to commit to a shift, please let us know which day you will be able to assist so that we can organise a training day.

We look forward to hearing from you,

Fiona and Libby
