Ladies to tart up art expo

A NUMBER of local artists are busy finishing their pieces that will be on display next weekend at the Gloucester Hidden Talent Art Expo at Hydeaway Bay next weekend.

It will exhibit paintings, photography, jewellery, fibre art and quilting at the Gloucester Sports and Recreation Clubhouse (GSRS) over the Easter Weekend (April 4 and 5).

One of the arts groups set to exhibit their work is the textile artists (TARTS) of Hydeaway Bay.

TARTS are a group of ladies who like trying everything new.

They currently sit at 18 members and meet on the second Wednesday of each month.

The textile artists of Hydeaway Bay will also be conducting three demonstrations next Saturday.

Avril Ayling, Di Johnson and Lynne Fritz will be doing some dry felting at 9am, Barbara Hill and Tess Cummins will conduct a wet felting workshop at 10.30am and Kay Bond will host beading and jewellery making at 11am.

Entry: $5 per adult or $10 per family (two adults and children under 13)
